Abstract

|
This is a report of a case of so-called blood boil in the nasal cavity and maxillary sinus.
The patient was 18 year-old school boy whose chief complaints were postnasal bloody discharge and nasal obstruction. X-ray findings and other clinical pictures suggested presence of tumor masses in maxillary sinus. Tumor masses were removed by Caldwell-Luc operation, transantral and intranasal ethmoidectomy. The pathologic examination of the masses revealed that it was an organizing hematoma of the maxillary sinus. There is no evidence of the recurrence for 8 months after the operation. The etiologic factor in this cae wase supposed to be repeated traumas on the face.
